#NextonScene Spring Fashion Show

Hello, beautiful! I hope you had a very happy Easter and or Passover. Yesterday I enjoyed the company of family & stayed away from social media.  Two weeks ago I had the opportunity to attend  #NextonScene Magazine's Spring Fashion Show hosted by the fabulous Jackie of JZ Social Enterprises. All the fashionable people of Boston gathered at The Venu for the event. Bites were provided by Oh Jolie Catering including shrimp cocktail, mini chocolate cupcakes, & much more. The event begun with opening act Brooke Moriber & continued by show casing 1 store & 4 local designers spring collections.

Brooke opened the show performing 4 of her latest songs. She is a NYC native that has performed on Broadway (7 shows to be exact, including Les Miserables), tv, & commercials. She has been writing & licencing songs since she was 15. Brooke is known for her edgy pop tunes.

After Brooke nailed the opening act the fashion had begun. Starting the show was The Lucky Onez which was founded in January 2015 by Marveil Biulou & Taiye Owolabi. Their line is based on 3 core values: live well, look well, & feel well. Their line showcased athleisure, casual, & evening wear. Guests saw a lot of bright colors & plaids. They cater to both men & women.

Following was line QueensKnow this line caters to women of all shapes & sizes, from the skinny minnie to the fabulous & fierce plus size. Founder Keisga Jean-Louis created the brand to empower women & to encourage them to see themselves as Queens. During their show they displayed a lot of denim pieces perfect for spring.

After a brief intermission Timeless Bridal Creations took to the runway showing off their hand crafted bridal bouquets. Executive directors Laurelle & Carrie Farrell are sister-in-laws that came up with their business concept after their own weddings. (I had the pleasure of sharing an elevator with them after the show) They believe that brides should be able to cherish their bouquets for more than one day. Their costum bouquets are designed to be treasure forever & can go from wedding day to centerpiece in your home. This brand is born & raised in New England. The Farrell's specialize in listening to exactly what the bride wants & creating a piece for any theme. Their display included brooch's, succulents, & much more.

The next brand up was Giblees a storefront that has been providing men with personalized service for more than 50 years. They offer one of the largest selections of men's designer clothing in New England. They provide merchandise that is uniquely picked from around the world including casual, career, & formal attire. Their formal was paired with Timeless Bridal creations & their casual had center stage during their portion of the show.

Closing a fabulous night of fashion was my favorite designer of the evening, Lalla Bee. I had the pleasure of modeling one of her dresses in the Spring edition of Next on Scene Magazine so I maybe a little biased. The quality of this line is impeccable & the designs are sophisticated yet vibrant. Born & raised in the Dominican Republic founder Melina Nmili-Cortes has created a line for women that tells a story of strength, effortless beauty, & unwavering confidence. Rather than focusing on the latest trends in a world of fast fashion her designs are timeless. Her pieces are made from fabrics sourced in USA & Europe while they are created in NYC. Her ideal customer is fearless & beautiful. Lalla Bee is a combination of the colorful girl from the DR with the sophistication of Boston. Her line consisted of fabulous florals, bright colors, & beautifully structured designs.

Both model makeup & hair was on point throughout the show due to the dynamic duo Alexandra Makeup Artistry & Hair by Cholaki. Jewels were provided by Jewerly Bx & Tesoro Boston. Not only was the night fabulous I was in great company being able to attend the show with Alex, the Fashology Social Media Intern & blogger friends old & new.

I highly recommend checking some of the designers & contributors out for yourself!

Well fash dolls, till next time.

Stay Sassy & God Bless!
