Hey girl (or guy) hey! It’s been a minute since our latest blog post, man have I missed you guys! I know the intro paragraph of blogs is usually an eye roller but, I sincerely am so grateful for our community & that you have stuck around during my many week hiatus. Sis, I was burnt out & feeling extremely uninspired. Here at Fashology we are all about the quality of our content over the quantity. Meaning, I’m not going to give you some half-a$$ed blog post or social media posts. We back baby!
Anyway, did you wear corduroy pants growing up? I sure did. The corduroy material then followed me to my professional life, to my first corporate job out of college. We used to sell matching corduroy pants & jackets in a denim styling in all shades & patterns. While a matching corduroy ensemble is most defiantly not within the realm of my personal style, this corduroy overall dress sure is!
I purchased this overall dress off Amazon in 2019 for our trip to London. Whenever I go on a trip outside the country I like to buy a couple of items that are inspired by the fashion there. To prep for London this dress was one of my purchases along with the Doc Martens & this coat. I feel like styling an overall corduroy dress can be intimidating maybe it’s the fabric or the fear of not looking like a 10 year old but I really wanted to make this my own personal style.
To make this overall dress feminine yet edgy I started by purchasing an overall dress in a more feminine color, you can get this exact one here ps, it runs small! I added a body suit underneath for smoother lines (get this exact one here) & black tights because well it’s freezing outside ideally I would love a polka dot pair of tights however, I have not found the perfect pair as they always rip so easy. I completed the look with patent leather Doc Martens, a The Giving Key necklace, & this Ann Taylor coat that I bought at TJ Maxx for maybe $30-$40.
Have you got your hands on a corduroy overall dress? How would you style yours?! Let us know in the comments below :)
