Hello, babe! I hope you had a great women's day yesterday. Personally through blogging & life I have had the pleasure of meeting & working with fabulous women. It is really encouraging when we lift each other up.
Today I wanted to chat with you about dressing for transitional weather. If you are like me you are itching to break out the spring clothes especially with a couple of warmer teaser days. But mother nature can be a cold broad & remind you that it isn't entirely time to do so yet. The back & forth, the anticipation, & bipolar weather can make dressing difficult. Take this outfit for example it was a gorgeous sunny day & later in the afternoon when we went to shoot it the weather turned cold & rainy.
To conquer this obstacle I like to wear maxi dresses & skirts. This is great for warmer days but also keeps you covered just in case the weather decides to rain on your parade. With maxi dresses/skirts you can go bare legged underneath or for the chillier days wear tights or knee high socks. I am a fan of anything with a slit, granted better for those 50 degree days but still fabulous.
Another tip to keep in mind for transitional dressing, is to layer! Depending on the day I'll run out of the house with a leather or jean jacket underneath my winter coat. Maybe you don't need the winter coat, it could be a little extra. (I'm the friend that is always cold) But having a lightweight jacket whether it be a bomber, leather, or denim flavor gives you the ability to take off if you get too toasty or keep on.
I'm not going to lie to you, I am a sucker for scarves. Adding one of these can instantly add warmth & style. One day it was 60 degrees in MA I wanted to wear open toe shoes SO bad especially since I had polish on my toes. But I couldn't bring myself to do it because there was still slushy snow on the ground. (eye roll) These flats though are the perfect transitional shoe, closed toe yet sporting spring vibes with the lace up.
Well dolls I hope that you got a couple of good takeaways from today's post. Dressing can be difficult but it doesn't have to be!
