Hello lovelies! I hope you are doing well! Last week I was able to sneak away for some much needed rest & relaxation. But, the hustle is back on in full force this week. It has been bringing me absolute joy to see how everyone has been styling their Fashology items! Today I wanted to chat with you about the hottest fabric trend of the summer, ruching.
By fashion definition “Ruching is a gathered overlay of fabric strips that are pleated, fluted, or gathered together to create a ripple-like effect.” (Business of Fashion) This fabric treatment can pretty much be seen within most apparel items however, we are seeing it mainly within tops, dresses, & skirts. I am low key getting popcorn top vibes from the late 90’s/early 2000’s but, in a more up to date way.
We have been seeing this trend everywhere & feel like it’s here to stay. Which we totally get why! It is seriously so flattering on the body no matter your body type. Not only is it flattering but comfortable too! The current ruching is almost made of this stretch fabric. You can find items with this fabric treatment all over or just in a portion of your piece like the bodice of a dress.
We currently have 2 items that feature this technique, our Smocked Ruffle Dress with ruching all over or our Color Block Maxi Dress which features it on the bodice. Whether you sport ruching from us or somewhere else we definitely think this is a trend worth investing in this season!
