Hello, beautiful! How are you? Things here have been kind of crazy over here. My best friend is getting married in TWO weeks! We are working on putting the finishing touches on the January/February collection at work & so many fun things are in the works for the blog. I just want to thank you for reading along & being a vital part of this community. I hope that each week you are able to get helpful advice that you can apply to your everyday life. Anyway let's get to the fashion, shall we?
As you know Monday-Friday I work in the fashion industry on the corporate side of retail so my office attire maybe a little bit more lax than others but we do have big meetings with the CEO & need to look professional. Dressing for work in the summer can be a little tricky. You want to wear sleeveless dresses & skirts but don't want to walk the line of too casual for your work environment. If you are going to opt for a sleeveless top or dress I recommend bringing a jacket or blazer along with you. This will be able to cover up your arms if you get cold because you know office buildings typically crank the AC in the summer making it really feel more like the arctic, am I right?! Or if you do have a big meeting you get pulled into you can just throw that layer on & instantly look more put together. The blazer is definitely a work wear go to but don't be afraid to try something new like the bomber jacket!
Another thing that I have discovered recently is toeless tights! What a concept! Look at one of the shoe detail shots. Note that the shiny tights cover my leggies but end at my front shoe strap. This allows you to show off that pedicure by wearing open toe shoes while looking boardroom ready. These toeless tights are from Berkshire Legs which you can get at Macy's here for only $7.95!
My third recommendation for rocking work wear in the summer is to make sure that your dresses & skirts are length appropriate meaning nothing to short. I would recommend knee length or just above.
Well fash dolls, I hope you enjoyed this week's post! I wish you great success in all of your professions. I know you will rock the work world this summer.
Till next time!
PS. I was gifted a pair of toeless tights. All opinions are my own. I wouldn't share a product with you that I don't believe in.
